Empowerment Through Support
SheBlooms supports vulnerable young women as they move from crisis toward stability and opportunity.
Through safe housing, practical skills training, and consistent support, we help women rebuild their lives with dignity, confidence, and a real path forward. Every contribution directly supports stability, training, and care for women taking their next steps.

Our Program

Housing
We provide safe, short-term housing for women participating in the pilot, offering the stability needed to step out of survival mode and focus on rebuilding their lives.
Core Services
During the program, women receive day-to-day support such as transportation assistance, childcare, meals, and wellness support to help them stay engaged and focused throughout the pilot.
Employment
Participants receive access to hands-on beauty skills training, along with guidance and support as they prepare for employment
Referrals & Resource
We connect women and families to trusted local resources, including affordable housing options, childcare services, and ongoing community support beyond the program period.

Breaking Barriers, Building Futures
Over 40% of Ethiopian girls are married before age 18, and many who escape early marriage or abusive homes face homelessness, unsafe work, or forced dependence. One study found that 72% of homeless women in Addis had experienced childhood or intimate partner violence, with some reporting they had to let their children beg to survive.
SheBlooms creates stability where it is most needed, allowing women to focus on skills training, prepare for employment, and move forward with confidence and independence.
Our Mission and Vision
Learn More
SheBlooms is a 6-month transitional housing and vocational training program for young women in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, who are survivors of child marriage, gender-based violence, or extreme poverty. We equip participants with hands-on beauty trade skills and job readiness training to secure stable employment or launch small businesses. By removing barriers like unsafe housing, lack of childcare, transportation, and food insecurity, we make sustainable independence possible for them and their children.

Meet the Team
The SheBlooms team, led by founder Kebron Tefera, combines nonprofit experience and local expertise to deliver trauma-informed housing, training, and support.
